About Somers
Somers Preschool is nestled amongst the trees, just minutes from the beach. There is a sense of calm and tranquillity at our kindergarten which allows for children to learn in an environment which nurtures their wellbeing.
Children learn in a balanced curriculum; play and intentional teaching sit alongside each other to support children’s skills, knowledge and characteristics. Music and movement are important to us and the children; we deliver a rich creative environment.
Somers Preschool runs a Bush Kindergarten program at Coolart Wetlands and Homestead Reserve from Term 1 to Term 4. This is a unique opportunity for children to learn in nature – there are opportunities to track animals, bird watch and get creative using natural materials like sticks and leaves. The children learn about the local Boon Wurrung Aboriginal Culture, acting out stories, dancing and singing.
We have strong connections to the country. Our curriculum embeds the traditions of our Indigenous culture and proudly works alongside the local indigenous community.
Our playground has recently undergone a remarkable transformation. Children are exploring nature, taking risks and going on adventures as they march over the bridge, pump water into the creek, dig in the mud pit and much more.
We are proud to be supported by a strong group of families who work hard to build our kindergarten’s sense of community.

REGISTRATION
To enrol at a Community Kinders Plus kindergarten you must first register with the Mornington Peninsula Shire. This can be done online or via telephone.

Each council will then facilitate the offers of enrolment at each service. Once you have received an offer you will then be contacted by Community Kinders Plus.
In order to complete the enrolment form for your child, you will receive an SMS with your unique username and password. Do not attempt to login unless you have these details, attempts to enrol your child without these login details will be ignored and you will have to fill out the form again once you receive your SMS. FEES
As a not for profit organisation, Community Kinders Plus aims to keep fees as low as possible to ensure that families can afford the invaluable investment in their child’s early childhood education. Community Kinders Plus has developed the 2019 Time Table for the 4 Year Old programs that will be running at Somers. 3 Year Old session times to be announced shortly and will only be facilitated if there is adequate enrolments. Please note that session times are subject to change dependent on enrolments.

Uniforms
Order your kinder uniforms by going online and visiting this link. *Note each kinder has a range of uniform options including tee shirts, long sleeve tee shirts, hats, jumpers and polo’s. Prices include your kinder logo on each uniform as well as GST. Each of the uniforms come in a range of colours including royal, navy, green, pink & red. You can select any of these colours for your child. Payment is available on check out. You may choose direct debit or for credit card payments please select PAYPAL where you are able to pay by all major credit cards with no additional fee. **TRY ON SAMPLES FIRST ** We highly recommend that you arrange a sample for sizing prior to purchase. Each kindergarten has its own sample pack in addition to the CKP office at 20 Ebdale Street, Frankston. We may not be able to exchange for incorrect sizing so please arrange a sample where possible.
